ELEMENTS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT ARE CONSPIRING TO CREATE CHAOS AND CONFUSION TO MISLEAD THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN – IMRAN FAROOQ
London – 23 April 2002
Dr Imran Farooq, Convenor of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), has said that a few
conspirators and notorious elements have been conspiring to create chaos and
confusion to mislead the people of Pakistan about MQM Founder & Leader Mr
Altaf Hussain’s speech delivered to the mammoth gathering at Nishtar Park in
Karachi on 19 April 2002, that he (Altaf Hussain) had raised slogans of “Azaadi”,
which is not only a total fabrication but a devil’s lie.
Dr Imran Farooq said, “I am quoting the excerpts of his speech as reported and published by the three renowned main newspapers of Pakistan”. The Daily Dawn published the speech of Altaf Hussain on 20 April 2002, and mentioned:
“Waving to a section of the crowd raising slogan of "Azadi, Azadi" on this occasion, the MQM leader said despite this "we want Pakistan to grow stronger and prosper.”
Similarly the News of 20 April 2002 mentions,
“We
love Pakistan and want rights and autonomy within the boundaries of Pakistan. We
don't want independence,".
The Daily Jang of 20 April 2002 mentions in his speech in Urdu as,
“Is
moqay per baaz khawateen nay azaadi kay naray lagaay.
Is per Altaf Hussain nay kaha ke is kay bawajood main kahta hoon ke hum
Pakistan ko kaim rakhna chahte hein, mazboot dekhna chahte hein, hum Punjabiyon
se nafrat nahi karte. Is per khawateen nay haquq do haquq do kay naray lagaiy”.
Dr Imran Farooq said that the entire Sindh and all the oppressed people
of Pakistan have awakened and are uniting against the corrupt feudal system of
Pakistan. He further added that
such kind of malicious and baseless allegations can never stop us from
continuing our struggle to attain the just rights of the people of Sindh as well
as the oppressed people of Pakistan. He
emphasised that those who are levelling such baseless and malicious allegations
against the MQM are themselves anti-Pakistan and were responsible for the
break-up of Pakistan in 1971.
