SECRET TO SUCCESS IS SOLIDARITY, RESPECT AND TEAMWORK – ALTAF HUSSAIN
London – 24 April 2002
Mr Altaf Hussain, MQM Founder & Leader,
has stated that a person could turn impossible into possible provided one has
the will and desire to do so on the basis of determined struggle based on
realism and practicalism (pragmatism). He
was addressing the members of the Sindh Organising Committee at the MQM Head
Office in Karachi, Pakistan. Mr
Hussain said that human beings and animals exist on the earth for thousands of
years. However, human beings
acquired supremacy over animals because they not only possess brainpower but
they also have more ability to learn as compared to the animals.
In such a manner, human beings increase and evolve their brainpower.
The human beings not only distinguish between the good and the bad but
they also have more capacity to learn as compared to the animals and to increase
the brainpower through the process of learning.
The human beings utilised this characteristic for the welfare, prosperity
and sustenance of humanity in such a way that today this vast earth has become a
“global village”. This has
become possible as a result of the process of working of human mind. The process of learning is continuing from the start of time
and would continue till the end. There
was a time when the imaginary and magical stories gave birth to the idea of
“flying carpet”. Even today
numerous such imaginary and idealistic substance are being presented in science
fictions. Such tales
are read and seen by everyone including the children as the human beings have an
instinct to either watch or perform such acts, which one has never seen before.
This persistent human act of pondering and to achieve the impossible made
the idealistic “flying carpet” a reality in the form of “aeroplane”.
Similarly, the “crystal ball” of the magical stories that was used to
see people or other substance thousands of miles away became reality in the form
of “television” and “satellite”.
.Mr Hussain said that till yesterday, it was claimed that unity amongst the Urdu
and Sindhi Speaking Sindhis is unimaginable, however, the wish, desire and
passion of every Urdu Speaking and Sindhi Speaking Sindhis was that the
permanent citizens of Sindh must unite and launch a joint struggle against the
injustices meted out to the Sindh Province.
Therefore, practical efforts were made for the fulfilment of these
wishes, desires and passion, which resulted in the reality of 19 April 2002, at
the Nishtar Park in Karachi, where people of different dialect and permanent
citizens of Sindh, gathered together just like a flower bouquet of different
colours and types. The purpose is to learn that a person could turn impossible
into possible provided one has the will and desire to do so on the basis of
determined struggle based on realism and practicalism (pragmatism).
In
the end Mr Hussain lauded the efforts of the Members of Sindh Organising
Committee for the success of Sindh Solidarity Convention on 19 April 2002, who
worked tirelessly as a team. He
emphasised that the secret to success is solidarity, respect and teamwork.
