Indiscriminate spate of raids and arrests of MQM workers and their relatives including the elders in Karachi, and other urban centres of Sindh, southern province of Pakistan by the Administration and Police
Despite, the Nazi style heavy security clampdown ever witnessed in history of Pakistan, unprovoked tortured, beaten with rifle butts and firing at the peaceful rally of the MQM-JSQM held in Sindh province, Pakistan yesterday. The administration and police raided throughout the night in Karachi on 17 April 2001, and arrested dozens of MQM Office Bearers, their parents and their relatives on false and fabricated charges.
The administration and police have started hunting the leaders and workers of MQM just to fail the peaceful strike called by the MQM and JSQM on Wednesday 18th April 2001.

UNLAWFUL POLICE RAID AT THE MQM SANGHAR ZONAL
OFFICE IN SHEDADPUR
The Personnel of Police and other law enforcement
agencies raided the MQM Sanghar Zonal Office in Shedadpur today.
During the raid, the police ransacked the office and threatened
those present of dire consequence if they took any part in
tomorrow's peaceful strike call of MQM and JSQM. The raiding
party manhandled those present and arrested two JSQM workers. The
police party then raided the residence of Shakeel, Member of MQM
Sanghar Zonal Committee. In his absence they arrested his younger
brother. It has been learnt that the police has also raided the
house of MQM Zonal Incharge and other members of the zonal
committee. The MQM Coordination Committee in a statement have
condemned this unconstitutional and illegal act of the Police and
have demanded for immediate release of all the innocent workers
of MQM and JSQM.

Mohammad Zahid. In his absence, they ransacked the house,
misbehaved with his family members and arrested his son Mohammad
Nazim. Mohammad Zahid is an Office Bearer of Elder Wing of
MQM Unit 186, Pak Colony Sector, Karachi, Pakistan.

The personnel of Pak Colony Police Station raided the
house of Khalid and arrested him. Khalid is a worker of MQM
Unit 187, Pak Colony Sector, Karachi, Pakistan. He is being
detained at Pak Colony Police Station. The same police
party raided the temporary residence of Farhan and arrested him.
Farhan is a worker of MQM Unit 187, Pak Colony Sector, Karachi.
He is being detained at Pak Colony Police Station.

Police raided the house of Azeem. In his absence, they
ransacked the house and arrested his father and two brothers.

house of Asif. In his absence, they ransacked the house,
misbehaved with his family members, and arrested his two brothers.

MQM Unit 187, Pak Colony Sector, Karachi, Pakistan

and arrested his uncle and three brothers. Munawwar is a

women and elderly persons were tortured during the raid and

Police raided the house of Kamran Akhtar. In his absence,
they ransacked the house and misbehaved with his family members.
